Bespoke kitchens for North London homes
Cabinetry drawn for one room, made by hand in our workshop and fitted by the people who built it. No range, no standard sizes, no compromise on the details that decide how a kitchen ages.
The best kitchens in London are not chosen. They are commissioned.
There is a point at which a kitchen stops being a purchase and becomes a commission. It is the point where the room leads and the cabinetry follows, where a chimney breast or an awkward return stops being a problem to work around and becomes the reason the kitchen looks like it grew there.
We are cabinet makers. Everything we build is drawn for one house, cut to the measurements we take ourselves and finished by hand. A larder lined in oak with the kettle behind its doors. An island panelled on every side so it reads as a freestanding piece. A run of drawers weighted so they close with the sound you expect from furniture rather than from a fitted unit.
Our clients tend to have seen the alternative. They have stood in a showroom, been shown a door sample in three colours and been told which of their walls will need a filler panel. What they want instead is somebody who will come to the house, measure the room, then make the kitchen the room deserves.
That is the whole of our business. One kitchen at a time, for people who intend to keep it.
Kitchens we have made for London houses
Every project on this page was built for one family and one set of rooms. Take a detail from any of them and we will make it yours.
Four stages. We are present at all of them
You deal with the people making your kitchen from the first visit to the last adjustment. There is no account manager between you and the workshop.
Survey
We come to the house and measure it ourselves, note the services and the walls that lean, then talk through how you cook, entertain and store things.
Drawing
Layout and elevations, then the details that decide the finished look. Rail widths, reveals, plinth heights and exactly where each appliance sits.
Making
Cabinetry built to your dimensions rather than cut down from a standard carcass, then hand painted in the colour chosen for your room.
Fitting
Installed, scribed to the walls and finished on site so the reveals stay even from one end of the run to the other.
Bespoke kitchens across North London
We work in houses across North London and the surrounding areas. Period terraces, family houses and new build extensions, each with its own set of walls that are never quite square.
If your home sits outside the districts below, ask. We travel for the right commission.
Commissioning a bespoke kitchen
What makes a kitchen bespoke rather than fitted?
A fitted kitchen is assembled from cabinets made in standard widths, so the room is adjusted to suit the boxes. A bespoke kitchen is the other way round. Every cabinet is made to the dimensions of your room, which is why there are no filler panels, no dead corners and no gap between the top of the run and the ceiling.
Do you design the kitchen as well as make it?
We are cabinet makers, so we set out the cabinetry, the storage and the details of how it is built. Many of our clients come to us with an interior designer or an architect already involved. We work alongside them. If you are working on your own, we will take you through the decisions that matter.
What does a bespoke kitchen cost?
It depends on the size of the room, the construction of the doors, the ironmongery and the worktop. In-frame cabinetry takes longer to make than lay-on. A hand painted finish costs more than a sprayed one. We give you a written quotation against a drawn layout so you can see what each decision adds.
How long does a kitchen take?
Lead times depend on the size of the commission and what else is happening in the house. We give you a schedule at drawing stage covering survey, making and fitting so the rest of the build can be planned around it. The earlier you talk to us, the more control you have over the date.
Can you make the rest of the joinery too?
Yes. Boot rooms, utility rooms, alcove units, wardrobes, studies and staircases are all made in the same workshop, in the same way. Carrying one door style through a ground floor is what makes a house feel designed rather than assembled room by room.
Do you work outside North London?
Most of our work is in North London and the surrounding areas, though we take commissions further afield where the project suits. Ask and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right people for it.
Bring us the room and we will make it worth keeping
Tell us what the kitchen does badly at the moment and we will show you what it could do instead. Every commission starts with a visit to the house.
