No two chimney breasts are the same. Walls lean, skirtings run out of true and the recess on one side is rarely the width of the other. That is why alcove joinery is the quickest way to tell a made piece from a bought one.
We are cabinet makers. Every alcove in this gallery was cut to the room it stands in, scribed to the plaster, painted to match the wall or set against it, then lit and wired so nothing trails. Floating shelves carry weight because they are fixed into the structure rather than hung on a bracket.
