Boot room ideas
A collection of boot rooms and utility joinery designed and hand made by Square Peg Designs. Take what you like from our work, whether that is a full height cupboard run, a butler sink set into painted cabinetry or brass that stands up to daily use, then let us make it for your own home.

The boot room takes more punishment than any other room in the house. Wet coats, muddy boots, the dog, the shopping, the recycling. It is also the room most likely to be left to a standard carcass and a rail, which is why so few of them work after the first winter.
We are cabinet makers. Every boot room in this gallery was built for the space it occupies, taken to the ceiling where the height allowed it, hand painted in a colour chosen for the room and fitted with ironmongery heavy enough to be pulled at all day.
Colour matters more here than anywhere. A boot room is small and usually has no window worth speaking of, so it is the one room where a deep plum, a forest green or an ink blue pays off rather than closing the space down.
Use the gallery to find the details you want in your own home. Bring us one idea, a bench with boot storage under it or a sink run beside the cupboards. We will make the rest around it.
Have your boot room built to take the weather
Send us the room. We will take the cupboards to the ceiling where the height allows, hang doors on ironmongery heavy enough for daily use, then paint the lot in a colour that suits a room with little light.
